This special additive guarantees that the packaging will break down in a landfill as part of a more sustainable waste management process.
ENVIROFIL thus degrades in landfills, thanks to the biodegradable additive infused within its polymer matrix. The conditions necessary for biodegradation are the controlled anaerobic environment in which the plastic is exposed to microbes.
Interestingly, the by-products of plastic degradation can be utilized as renewable energy sources, providing even greater benefits for waste management.
